New: Chapter sessions generally qualify for NYS Engineering Continuing Education Units.
Following the latest Con Edison Steam rate case, several important changes relevant to New York energy users were initiated. Notably, the advent of demand billing for some large steam users will modify customer incentives to impose moments of high steam demand on the system. Speakers will discuss developments related to steam demand rates and costs, and touch upon other issues such as interconnection, R&D, transportation and standby rates, thermal efficiency and controlling of losses, customer relations, potential new facilities, and steam cooling. Con Edison will explain the rates, applicability and timing. As follow up, experts working on the customer side will provide insight into opportunities and options to control the impact of these rates, and NYSERDA will provide an update on its activities regarding steam use.
