Performance of a building's or group of buildings' Chilled Water System is typically representative of the interrelationships of the many and various components that make up each system. Whether a particular system is supplying chilled water for comfort only, for industrial or laboratory process only or for both, the interaction of thermal and hydraulic factors are critical. The ability of each system to achieve design capacity, and meet the chilled water needs of a system's users, in as cost efficient manor as possible, requires intelligent chiller selection, piping, pumping and coil design and good measurement of temperature and pressure readings during operation, as well as skilled mechanics capable of interpreting this information and making appropriate adjustments accordingly. This session will explore some of the ways this can be accomplished.
Our Panelists will include:
1. Hemant Mehta
Hemant Mehta is the President of WM Group Engineers, P.C. an Engineering Consulting firm headquartered in New York City. In his over 30 years in the industry, Mr. Mehta has managed over 100 central utility projects throughout the United States as well as in Germany, Saudi Arabia and Japan. His expertise is in optimizing performance and improving efficiencies of existing facilities through simple modifications. Based on his recommendations, many facilities have saved millions of dollars in capital costs as well as operating costs.
2. Joseph C. Hoose
Joseph C. Hoose - Cool Systems, Inc. is a company focused on optimizing utility infrastructure for maximum performance and minimum cost from generation, distribution and demand side management. Joe Hoose is President and has been a systems integrator of pneumatic, electric, electronic, DDC and DCS controls systems for over 16 years. He has specialized in Industrial Performance Contracting with a focus on Central Plant Utilities Optimization and is currently integrating analytical plant dispatch/market sensitivity to reduce cost in deregulated energy markets
3. Tim Angerame
Tim Angerame - Since joining Utility Programs and Metering Tim has been involved in the building utility oversight portion of the business, particularly the "real time" monitoring and performance analysis of large tonnage chilled water plants utilizing the state of the art UtiliVisor remote monitoring platform.
4. Jonathan Zoppa
Jonathan Zoppa - PEMCO was founded in 1980 as a manufacturers representative firm whose purpose was to serve the measurement needs of the Process Market in New York and New England. PEMCO has since developed into one of the more substantial representatives and distributors of high tech measurement instrumentation and systems in this area. Jonathan is Service Manager for the firm and has earned a BSME from the University of Rhode Island.
