Event Summary
What are the new federal and State incentives, tax credits and programs coming out of the Federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) that energy engineers and building owners and operators need to know now?
Federal clean energy incentives in the August 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, or IRA, could transform the U.S. economy. The expanded tax credits and new funding for rebates, incentives and research, estimated at over $300 billion, represent the biggest step that Congress has taken on climate to date. But many of the IRA’s biggest programs and tax regulations are still under development, with federal agencies, state regulators and utilities working to finalize the rules of the road and specific programs this year.
This panel will explain the new tax incentives, rebates, and programs from the IRA that are under development and how they may impact the energy and building industries in New York.
Our speakers, from an experienced energy engineering firm and from a sizable accounting firm, will cover the wide range of new incentives for HVAC systems and other energy-efficiency upgrades, and the new tax incentives for energy production and energy storage that will significantly reduce the upfront and operating costs for building owners and operators including municipalities, schools and hospitals.
