About The Event

New York State and NYC Energy policy is in transition:


While NY State has passed the 2019 Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), NY is still developing a comprehensive roadmap to build a clean, resilient, and affordable energy system for all New Yorkers. This Plan would be designed to provide broad program and policy development direction to guide energy-related decision-making in the public and private sectors within New York State. Additionally, the transition to a zero-emission grid is expected to create a system of new, intermittent generation, which can make it more challenging to keep the bulk transmission system reliable.


New York City's energy policy aims to transition the city's energy grid from fossil fuels to clean energy by 2040. The city's goals include reducing emissions, increasing renewable energy, and improving building efficiency.
