New York State climate laws and associated programs are tackling greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the transportation sector, which generate 29 percent of the state’s total GHG emissions. While New Yorkers and fleets increasingly embrace electric modes of transportation, electric vehicle infrastructure becomes more critical than ever, as does ensuring the grid is ready with sufficient capacity for charging. For owners and operators of electric vehicle infrastructure, managing electric vehicle operating costs are also an essential piece of the puzzle.
In the October chapter meeting, we will bring a full house of stakeholders together to discuss this timely matter. Each stakeholder will give a presentation on their organization’s efforts in the electric vehicle space, followed by an engaging panel discussion. We will hear from NYC’s electric utility provider, the public agency electrifying NYC’s fleets, and a private electric vehicle charging infrastructure operator about where they are in their journeys to support the electrification of New York’s transportation sector.
